Nine years after the 2015 Refugio Oil Spill along the Santa Barbara coastline, a federal judge has granted preliminary approval of a $70 million class action settlement to nearly 90 property owners. Gutierrez granted final approval of a combined $230 million class action settlement arising out of Plains All American Pipeline’s 2015 Refugio Oil Spill on the Santa Barbara coast.
