10 Eats Like A Bird

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (1)

In a zombie apocalypse, the one thing that matters more than finding weapons or materials is food. If you don’t have it or run out, you’ll find yourself in trouble. The “Eats Like A Bird” trait comes in handy saving not only lives, but food as well.

With this trait -50% of food is consumed per day meaning survivors won’t eat as much food and get full off of eating small amounts. 50% is a huge difference, and you’ll notice a change in your food stockpile in no time at all. If you see a survivor with this trait, it’d be in your best interest to bring them in as soon as possible.

Everybody has a role to play in the zombie apocalypse. Most communities have their fighters, medics, farmers, and most importantly scavengers. That’s where the “Keeps Hidden Pouches” trait comes in handy. With this, a survivor can have +10 light carrying capacity, +10 max carrying capacity, and +1 max consumable stack.

This means that they can carry more gear and items than the average survivor. This is a huge help when looting buildings and coming across other communities where you can trade materials with them. Instead of having to repeatedly walk back and forth, you can keep moving forward from dusk to dawn.

8 Indefatigable

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (3)

Have you ever imagined what living in a zombie apocalypse would be like for somebody who was a track star before everything went down? Well, now you can with the “Indefatigable” trait. With this, a survivor has -40% fatigue severity and +30 max stamina added to their stats.

There will be moments where your either looting or fighting, and you happen to get overrun by a horde of zombies and have to hit the jets. A survivor with Indefatigable can run for a longer period of time and doesn’t get tired like the average joe.

7 Unbreakable

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (4)

If you want somebody on your team that can take hits and shrugs them off like they’re nothing, then you need to get a survivor with the “Unbreakable” trait. With this, survivors will be a beast when fighting zombies whether it’s a one-on-one scenario or when talking on a horde.

Unbreakable gives you +45 max health along with a -100% injury chance making you seem like a brick wall on the battlefield. While you can still die if your health hits zero, you can never get hurt so that’s a good trade-off. It saves you some medical supplies in the long run.

6 Diehard Veteran

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (5)

Being a “Diehard Veteran” would Imply that you’ve been around the block a couple of times and know what you’re doing inside and outside of combat. With this trait you have -40% to injury severity, +100 to infection resistance, and +10 to light carrying capacity. Not only are you beneficial to fighting, but scavenging as well.

The best part about this perk is that you will rarely find yourself getting infected and turning into a zombie. You can keep going with this survivor on the team and never have to worry about anything stopping them.

5 Red Talon Operative

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (6)

“Red Talon Operative” is a perk that you should use with a survivor that’s a part of your scavenging team. Not only is the perk useful for looting different items with its +60 max carrying capacity, but it’s also a fighter class as it grants -95% durability loss per strike and -100% fatigue severity.

You can fight zombies to your heart's content as you’ll find your weapon never breaking, and you will rarely get tired at all when swinging it around freely. Whether you need to fight or flee, you can do both at the same time.

4 Can Sleep Anywhere

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (7)

“Can Sleep Anywhere” is exactly what it sounds like. Any survivor who has this perk doesn’t need a bed in order to get a good night's rest. It saves you one-bed space which can really pay off depending on how big your actual community is.

It’s best to find this trait paired up with another one as alone it really doesn’t do much, combined with another amazing one, particularly on this list, will greatly increase a survivor’s worth in the community.

3 Officer Material

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (8)

“Officer Material” may not initially seem like a good trait to have, however, the payoff at the end of the day is more than worth it. While you might not want to take a survivor with this trait out in battle or to loot for materials, keeping them in the base will help your community out.

It gives you +50% To Wits Experience Gain along with +6 To Morale which really does help the community out. They give off that leader aura since they can benefit other survivors in the group.

2 Bright-Eyed Recruit/Patient Caretaker

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (9)

"Bright-Eyed Recruit/Patient Caretaker" is essentially the same trait so if you find a survivor with either of these you should pick them up ASAP. Unlike Officer Material, these two traits should be used on a survivor that you want to keep in the community. With a +15 boost in morale, the community will thrive more than usual.

Across your journey, you’ll meet survivors that like to cause issues inside your community which can lower the group’s morale. This acts as a perfect countermeasure to that ensuring everyone stays happy at the end of the day.

1 Volunteer Coordinator

State of Decay 2: 10 Best Traits, Ranked (10)

To finish it off, "Volunteer Coordinator" is the best trait that you can have in State Of Decay 2. A survivor who has this is someone that everyone wants to be around as they give everyone in the community a +4 boost in morale.

Compared to Bright-Eyed Recruit/Patient Caretaker, it may not be a lot, but when you consider how big your community will be in the long run, you can best believe that you absolutely need this trait if you want to have a successful community.
