My 17 month old sometimes tilts his head to the right like to his shoulder while walking. Usually when he’s playing and walking around or trying to run and play.
Of course I googled and freaked myself out (I have bad anxiety) and it came up an article about a toddler with a brain tumor being sent to evaluation due to the head tilt thing.
Does anyone else’s babes do this? When should I be worried??
He does it a few times a day, not constant at all but I notice it at least twice a day. He’s also very clumsy so this worries me but He is always tripping over stuff not necessarily just falling randomly. (I mostly think it’s because he doesn’t look at where he’s going)
Any experiences shared are helpful please! I have to wait to call his doctor tomorrow…

Mine does that too to be silly.
My first baby had Torticollis but that doesn’t sound like what you’re describing!

Mine does it too for fun while walking or in the high chair and one day I realized he wanted us to follow his lead. Now it’s a game.

Mine totally does this sometimes to be silly! My toddler does a lot of silly things but it’s mostly just to explore different perspectives or hear differently.

Mine does this too and I was always worried it might be a sign of autism (in combination with some other stuff he does), so everyone’s answers are so reassuring!

@bunny86ie,
My hairdresser said she thought my daughter was autistic because she does this thing we call the flappy bird. She flaps her arms up and down really hard and one leg bounces while the other one stays on the ground and sometimes she does it so hard she’ll fall back. She does it when she’s super excited or happy! It’s truly the cutest thing I’ve ever seen though! ButEver since she made that comment, which crushed me and made me paranoid, there are so many things my daughter does that make me think it’s something more but I’ve been reassured over and over kids are just goofy. They do the silliest things and sometimes we as moms look toofar into it. I totally understand how you felt about the autism thing!

You could try a chiropractor. I was going to a chiropractor when I was pregnant because they have a technique they use to try to turn a breech baby. They offered a free assessment for infants so I took him in at 3 months. He had this habit of only turning his head to one side. She did a couple of little adjustments and voila! Head started turning both ways. ♀️

yes! my son started doing this about a month ago…also mostly when he was waking around/running/playing .. i thought it was a little bizarre too but it really seemed like he was just being silly. i think was just a new way of exploring.. kind of like when he stands on his head and looks around upside down. it was sort of a phase…he still does it, but nowhere near as much as he was when he first started to do it. if that makes sense. haha , i’m tired.

My nephew does this all the time! We thought it was just a phase but hes 4 now and he’s been doing it again. His mom asked why he does that and he said “it makes things look weird.” Kids are strange lol I wouldn’t worry!
